Today our mixer seems to have made some progress. He started trouble shooting on the import. He says normally ProTools is set to match file name, file type (e.g. wav vs aiff) and duration. He first tried unchecking matching file type with no success. Then he also unchecked match duration and those two settings unchecked allowed the aaf to import with a proper link to the audio media. He's not sure if things are in sync because we don't have a video reference yet but it sounds correct.
I wonder if there is a discrepancy in duration between Adobe and Protools. I've often seen 1 frame discrepancies between Avid and FCP 7 and with QT. Usually it seems like a question of whether the output is inclusive or exclusive. At least now the media is linking in ProTools before it would import but no media was online.
