Just go to your back up startup drive. You know the one you create right after getting everything setup just right. Like I did with my new work computer a few weeks back. The one where the SSD won't boot without dropping off internal drives if the fibre is connected. Yeah now I run off one of the internal HDD partitions and in a mere 4 weeks I've managed to create 8 versions of startup drive as I back up and upgrade each step. Unfortunately it's getting hard to remember which is the latest and greatest. And don't get me started on having to create a 10.9 startup just to access Adobe CC2015 which thereby nuked my Avid MC 6.5.4.7 and any unity connection etc.... Gotta love the cyber world.

Spoke too soon. New user doesn't help the situation at all - I'll probably nuke the machine next time we're slow, or if I get too frustrated on a saturday morning.

There's something called 'QT OPServer' (not responding) in the activity monitor - which is the only thing I can find that would explain the random stall. The project I'm currently working in has NO AMA'd material, and yet,
