Hi Greg,
I had this problem at a company last month. It had nothing to do with drives or Avid
or QT. It got into everything playback and just slowly ground my speed to nothing.
Something called OP server is running and we had to go into Terminal to kill it.
I'm not an IT person, So I had to get the house IT guy to fix it for me.
