Apologies but was out of town.... back now.
Question 1) If we have a new unopened v6 MC Dongled version can I register
it and then get support to bring it up to v8x?
Answers: No as this license even though unopened was not upgraded by May 15th 2015 which was the cut off date to purchase the support/upgrade plans.
Question 2) If I have a v6 dongle not registered to me and I want to update
to v8x can I do this?
Answer: Depends on whether the license with dongle has a support plan tied to it by the owner. If it does then yes you can. If it doesn't then the answer to question 1 stands. Plus you would be encouraged to do a transfer of ownership if you take possession of it.
