Couple off the top of my head.
If you use the same shot multiple times in different scenes with different looks, in your method Avid will relink all instances to the first corrected version of the shot. Example, an establishing shot that may get different looks for different times of day.
Second, off speed shots will come back in a strange state to MC which will then not be able to consolidate those shots. Example, 23.98 shots in a 30 frame project. We want to keep them at 23.98 through the roundtrip so the choice of how manipulate the motion is kept until the final moment. What happens is they come back from Resolve and they are shown as 23.98 FPS , but they are also called NTSC 30i as a media type by Avid due to the project type. Avid refuses to consolidate them with a "frame mismatch" error.
If you go back and recorrect a shot in Resolve, the new media will have the exact same name as the old media. You now to be careful or Avid will relink to the old media. Takes some real attention to avoid issues.
