At NAB 2015, Avid was listed in the Dolby booth as being one of several companies that had agreed to participate in the Dolby Vision HDR initiative.
However, I could not get a straightforward answer from either Dolby or Avid regarding exactly how and when that functionality would be implemented.
As many of us know, the rest of the show floor included seeing a large number of other proprietary HDR schemes, mostly by the monitor manufacturers.
It will be interesting to learn if IBC shows any indication of a coalescing of HDR standards -- but I doubt it.
Until that happens, I suspect we are squarely in Beta vs. VHS mode. And absent an industry standard, I don't know how companies like Avid can move forward with HDR integration.
