It's true that multiple versions of BCC (like BCC8 and BCC9) can NOT coexist and this BCC Lights Unit is BCC9 so it cannot coexist with BCC8 (and if you already have BCC9 you already have these effects).
If you already have BCC for Avid but you also use a BCC supported host for which you don't already have BCC (Adobe perhaps etc.) then you could take advantage of it for that host.
