RE: [Avid-L2] Media Composer instal on Windows system

There is a good bit of software called editprep which sets a lot of things up for a windows PC.

If you are on a qualified ish PC there is an easy download guide with a few tips for nvidia card and bios

DING DING DING!!!!! Excellent suggestion.  I found the guide I needed.  It is a supported workstation, but not with the video card that is currently in it.  I'll probably try it anyway, because what's the worst that can happen, right?  Now lets see, just in case, I have the Windows OS instal information around here somewhere don't I…..?

So it's been a long time since I did a Media Composer instal on a Windows system.  The last time was around 2002ish?  And back then there was a thick instal guide for windows.  You had to do reg hacks and all sort of settings and stuff.  But the instal guide for v8.3 is - Download installer, launch installer, follow on screen instructions, reboot.  Is it really that simple or am I missing something somewhere?  The guide I'm referring to is…

Thanks,

Jay
