Good info. The post super told me they a program call Twixter, or something like that, that I guess does something similar. Here is the AMA specific console comman I was thinking of:
SetAMAQTForcedFrameRate true 23.976
Type that into the console before linking and the incoming AMA clip will link in at the rate specified. Then when you want to put it back, type
SetAMAQTForcedFrameRate false 0

The console command you are thinking of is:
IgnoreQTRate true
That will let you file>import a quicktime file frame for frame (creating your slo-mo)
However, since you mentioned the C300 (which always sets off internal alarms in my head) - I looked and see that in the past we have used EditReady to re-flag the footage to 23.98 (also creating the slo-mo)
That seemed to be the best workflow for us here.
EditReady is fast, and then you can AMA instead of file>import (and transcoding AMA is still faster than importing).
Hope that's helpful.

We are running Avid Version 6.0.x here. Is this something that we would use a console command, there is one I've seen on the L2 that act like ingore QT Rate only it's for ama linked files IIRC. Is that the proper way to accomplish this?Would it make sense to bring in the material into a 720P 60 project and then open that bin in the 23.976 project and adjust the motion adapter to get a frame for frame playback at 23.976? Is there a similar approach but bringing the material into a 59.94i project? I would think a 59.94i project would be halving the resolution somehow given the field nature and similarly the 29.97 P project would only have half resolution in each of the psf fields. Am I missing an easy path to accomplish this? Perhaps a rebaking in Resolve before ingest into Avid? Me I'd just through a timewarp on it and shoot normal but I guess they are looking for that super slomo feel like we had in the 84 Olympics.
