[Avid-L2] PT HD 11 or 12

 

Hey Gang

Who knows Protools?  I'm looking into upgrading from 10 to 11 (or 12,) and dumping my HD (not HDx) boxes in favor of Native with an Omni i/o

Good idea or bad idea?  Any Caveats?  Most cost-effective way to make the upgrade?

We never lay back to tape directly anymore, so I don't really need the sync capabilities, will keep the decklink SDI for picture.

Current CPU is a Mac 8-core 2009, but will probably hop it up to 12-core 2010.   I also understand I'll need to upgrade most of my plug-ins to 64 bit and native.
