[Avid-L2] 1080p/25 vs i/50

Could someone explain to me what the practical difference is between the
i and p dnx codecs? Obviously material shot p should be captured in p
and vice versa, but if I'm cutting with the format set to i and I have
some material shot i but accidentally ingested in the p codec, is there
actually any difference. In other words, does this material need to be
re-ingested?

Looking at it there is movement visible between fields (so 50hz motion)
- is there any other information lost that I should know about? Or is
the i or p decision as much an OCD/good practice thing as an actual
technical necessity in a world where we can have both on the same timeline?

Obviously, as an online editor, it should be correct in the first place
but I don't want to cause hours of unnecessary reingesting if it's only
needed as a punishment :)
