That’s me as well.. One older than the latest and greatest is by far the best performance/price combo.

We have a mixture of Z400 Z420 Z800 & Z820 machines
All work brilliantly. The 420 and 820 have the benefit of USB3 native on board.
Our online finishing system is an HP Z820 with dual hexcore 48GB RAM RAID 0 SSD drives and it’s a real workhorse.
I generally find the best value is the model one under the latest one. So the 820 for me till an 860 comes then the 840 will be a good price.
