[Avid-L2] Re: 2.39 DCP ?

How is the 2.39 letter box being generated?  Is this a mask over an Avid timeline?  What letter box do you usually have on these?  Although not my area of expertise I thought when it comes to theatrical projection the traditional film approach was to mask in the projector/booth.  Has this changed with Digital Projection or as part of the DCP spec?

Question for the few members regularly delivering DCPs from HD.

I've done dozens of these, but, oddly, just ran into my first 2.39 letterbox (which is actually slightly larger than 2.39, just to complicate things.)  Do you deliver these as 2k Flat?  with pillar AND letterbox?  Or do you blow them up to 2048 x 858 leaving no letterbox?

I'm figuring on delivering both, but just wondered what the 'standard' was.  (Using EasyDCP, by the way.)
