It surprises me that anyone, after two minutes on that site, would continue using it (as opposed to subscribing to posts via email).
That said, I retract my previous statements about it being intentional. It has been the case on other forums which I am subscribed that when this happens, it's because the user removed the quoted text. Leave it to Yahoo to be non-standard.
