Re: [Avid-L2] Dnx- io

I don't think Avid holds anything back for Monday.  Don't expect any surprises, and you won't be (any more) disappointed.  I'm with Job- I'm not sure who this box serves.

Maybe there's a more useful version coming from BMD?

Job, you might consider it a misfire for the pro 4k market, but it's probably just the first volley from Avids hardware guys.  This is an "Artist" series product not a Nitris.  And we have yet to see it.

Right now. There's no reason to believe there won't be more capable (and expensive) Dnx native solutions coming.  Maybe even with AJA processing engines onboard

I guess I'll reserve judgment, at least until the show opens and closes.

Let's hope NAB has some pleasant surprises.  And good parties.

Oh, and what a great move to choose BlackMagic over AJA. AJA has the best and most reliable Open I/O support for MC, so using them would of course be waaaaaay to easy for all of us.

If they want to replace Nitris DX (which they do to support 2K and 4K), they need to at least copy the I/O options that Nitris DX features.

But no, someone figured that Nitris DX had all the wrong I/O choices. Sure.
