I am delivering a show for Sky in the UK & internationally, and had a couple questions.
1) Do most of you use the 2 frames white, before and after programme? The document I have says it's optional, but do most still use it?
2) Can anyone point me to an approved "Ident. Clock"? If I understand correctly, it should be round, but it must not have a sweeping hand, and cannot use digital numbers. I will be delivering on both Tape and File, and therefore I believe I need a 30 second version and a 7 second version. As I will be delivering in both PAL 25 and 23.98, I need clocks that conform to both frame rates. Any recommendations on what Sky likes is greatly appreciated.
3) I have found a couple of ident clocks on the internet, but they include tones. I believe Sky doesn't want any tones other than if you use the two frame white, and then only on the first frame of that white. Can someone comment if this is correct?
4) When putting show timing in slates...Do you include the "Living Holds" in that duration? In the duration of the Break? I will be delivering a series of two part shows, with a single break. Should my slate duration be the time from top of show to the end of the 2nd act living hold (credits)? Or should it be the total duration of the breaks without the living holds, plus the duration from the end of the first part to the start of picture on the second part? (hope that's not too confusing.)
Any help or comments is appreciated in reducing the number of QC cycles on the show.
