Yeah, the Opal's are nice but $1500 each.  For a home studio that's not an investment, that's a mortgage payment. :-)

and precise small monitor like this) In my work I don't change a lot of monitors brand. Old retro JBL (my first, but not nearfield), then Neuman, Klein & Hummel and Genelec.
Old series Genelec is good choice for the money. You can try second hand.
