Assistant Editor? I don't get consulted until it's a screwed up. I haven't hammered on Red since we went to Alexa but isn't it hard to go wrong with an ama link and transcode? I do remember that Avid's ama link did not recognize the embedded Reel/Tape name that Resolve did and that it seemed that using Resolve to create the Avid media would insure that the tape name from Avid would correlate in Resolve if Resolve was used to create the offline media so that is something to consider. I also was able to ama link to Red and add tape names manually in Avid then send an aaf that worked in Resolve even though it's tape names were different.
I should mention these were very straight forward shows with six camera multicam with virtually no effects so they did not have the typical complexity of most shows I work on. I think my aaf success was in large part due to the straight forward nature of the show. It was unwieldy in Avid with the entire hour plus timeline ama linked to Red Raw files but I'm on 5.5.x so that may have contributed to the instability.
