You can also configure two different storage groups, one either the 32tb engine and another with the 64tb.
If you do that you don't have to sacrifice half of your 64tb engine, the tricky part will be balancing bandwidth from the editor clients.
With one SG composed of two engines you get 600MB/sec, if you have two engines and two SG you'll have 300MB/sec in each SG.

You can mix. However, if a 64TB engine is added to a storage group of 32TB engines you will utilize only half of the 64TB. If you need the entire 64TB you must add it to a storage group consisting of the same size or create a new storage group.

is it supported mix an isis 5k 32 with 5k64 in the same storage group?
I have one 5k 32tb and I need to add 1 engine and I getting a 64 engine... any of you are using like this?
