Re: [Avid-L2] [FR] Drag & Drop Editing +

Thanks Steve.
I've mentioned this to a couple people at Avid in past, and they had thought the same thing. I'm sure they nudged the engineers, but that would have been quite a while ago, and it's likely not very high on the To-Do List, compared with 4K, etc. I figured that since in 8.3 they added the ability to drag-copy while in Segment Mode, it seemed like a good time for a reminder. It would really make the drag-drop editing much more useful. I can see its utility. Heck, even this old guy would do it sometimes (from the Source Window)… then I could feel more like I was in 'Minority Report!' ;)

Great idea. Having spent the last six months working with someone whose only experience was FCP, this was a HUGE deal for them.

Hi, L2 Cohorts . . .

I'm likely preaching to the choir, but without the feature mentioned below, IMHO "Drag and Drop" editing is not complete. And with so many transitioning from FCP* it's absence becomes more apparent. Borrowing a line from 'The Hudsucker Proxy': "It's for the kids!" ;)

I bet it's because FCP will not play nice with Yosemite.

Feature Request:

When "Drag and Drop" editing, from a bin or the Source Monitor, we can choose onto which video track we'd like to place the video, but  audio can *only* be placed on A1 and A2.

Possibly it could work that the editor is allowed to choose the video track, then hold Opt/Alt to keep the video in its place and allow the selection of  where you want to place the audio?

Cheers,
