RE: [Avid-L2] Brorsoft?

Yes, I left out the detail that client wants to edit in FCP-7, and
doesn't have an MC license, and we're not providing the assistant
editor. I'm simply trying to help with their workflow as the transition
to this new codec. Once a season I ask them to switch to MC, but more
than that, I become a nuisance.)

Transcoding through media composer would leave us with 3 copies of the
media instead of 2 (original, avid mxf-wrapped prores proxy, then
exported quicktime prores proxy.)

Plus, each individual clip would have to exported to QT 'by hand,'
unless there's some batch export trick I'm unaware of.

I would of posted on a non-Avid-specific board, but I don't spend a lot
of time on the other boards, and I tend to rate the knowledge and
experience of this group higher.

All that said, I may try using MC as a transcoder, and see what happens.
