Between projects and finally bit the bullet and upgraded to Mac 10.10.2, and MC 8.3.1. Figured the first project is to be a multicam of my kids spring musical so there's no pressure to get it done quickly.
Importing footage from 2 cameras - an XDCam EX3, and a Sony PMW-100 which records in XDCam. All files processed through Sony Clip browser using the same settings - except that the PMW files were copied to a hard drive first, then converted, while the EX3 files were done directly from the chips. Imported both 1:1 MXF
In the bin is that the PMW files came in as EX35mbts, while the EX3 comes in as HDV1080i - which would be correct, because the EX3 was set to "Standard Quality" while the PMW has only "High Quality" in 1080I.
The problem is that when I mix them together in a timeline, the lengths are significantly different - almost 3 minutes over an hour - but there is no pitch shift or other obvious speed difference.
I'm also noticing a significant lag when trying to edit, making the interface almost unusable. Running an I7 Imac, with 16 gigs of Ram, a SSD for the OS and Avid, and a Pegasus Thunderbolt drive array for media. Never had any issues before.
Anyone want to take a stab at what might be going on?
