I'm on 8.3 on a MacBookPro Retina 10.10.2 and I am not seeing the behavior you describe. Might be your user setting is corrupted (how many times have I given THAT little pearl of wisdom.)

Hi All,
Since upgrading to 8.3 on the weekend I am hugely frustrated by new trim behavior.
Previous versions (including 8.2) allowed ripple trim even if not all tracks had roller icons. (All tracks synch locked)
Example: 9 audio, 3 video tracks. But at the point where I want to trim, only V1 and A1 are involved and there are no clips on other tracks in the vicinity. So I only select V1 and A1 and place yellow rollers appropriately.
It won't trim.
Now it seems ripple trim is only allowed if I make sure all tracks are involved and have rollers. Huge PITA because this is a really simple action that I am in the habit of doing all the time - which is the main reason I always synch lock the tracks.
Is anyone aware of a new setting or perhaps a console command that would restore previous behavior? Any help or insight greatly appreciated. Thanks.
