FYI Here's the fix for my particular situation. I have four cards of footage, including about a dozen interviews. Resolve found the footage just fine but, as mentioned above, doesn't like the audio. "Brorsoft Video Converter" worked fine to transcode to DNx QuickTimes, which I will AMA and consolidate later. It also quickly created some low-res QTs for our transcriber.
