Re: [Avid-L2] Cutting a feature starting Monday. Is 8 ready for primetime?

Now that I'm going to create different startup drives for Ver. 7.04 and 8.2 it seems like I should upgrade to 7.0.4 and then clone that drive and uninstall everything but ALE before installing Verr. 8.2.  I'm basing this on the discontinuation of ALE in Ver. 8.x according to this previous thread.  Anything else to watch out for as I bounce from 6.5.4 to 7.0.4 and then 8.2?  To repeat these will all be separate startup drives on the same computer.

Not using v8, and I don't think many do, since it is essentially v7.0.4 with a new installer and some functionality removed: no more Avid Log Exchange, ScriptSync and PhraseFind.

Honestly, but more based on gut feeling than on experience, I would go for 7.0.3. Read some weird things about 7.0.4 with QT exports and audio imports. Not sure that version was tested as well. 7.0.3 has been quite good to me.
