v6.5.4.4 and v10.5.4.4 - Launching Today
Media Composer and Symphony v6.5.4.5 (Mac and PC) and NewsCutter v10.5.4.5 (PC) will launch today, November 13th, 2014 at 1:00 pm ET on the Download Center (login and password required).
Fixed in 6.5.4.5/10.5.4.5: There are quite a few fixes in this release so customers with 6.5.x/10.5.x are encouraged to upgrade after they download and read the ReadMe document that accompanies the release.
Install Notes: Please read the Patch ReadMe and Patch Installer Instructions first.
Mac installers: Mac installers are full installers that include the editing application and the helper applications. You must uninstall your previous version of editing application using the Avid uninstallers located in your Applications folder before installing the new version.
Windows installers: Windows installers are patch installers and can be installed on top of an existing v6.5.4/10.5.4 installation.
Download Center: The 6.5.4.5/10.5.4.5 updates are located on the Download Center (login and password required).
Patch Warning: Customers using a networked solution must check software compatibility on all Avid components (Avid Editing applications with Avid MediaManager, Avid TransferManager or Avid Unity MediaNetwork). Consult with your Avid account representative or Avid Support for compatibility verification. Installation of individual patch software components in a networked environment may result in loss of data, loss of media, or other system problems. Customers may need to download additional software specifically tested in a "bundled" configuration to maintain compatibility. Customers running a Networked Solution should contact Avid Support, your Avid Account representative, or your local Avid reseller prior to installing any software. Breaking compatibility in such Networked Environment may cause a loss of data, a loss of media or other mission critical failure.
