LOL! I made a basic math mistake here, in point of fact it's not just a tad over 50 percent, it's just a tad over 200 percent to get 48 fps footage to playback in real time within a 23.98 project.
If you play back 48 fps at 200 percent exactly in 23.98 fps project, after a second, you will have played back just a bit less than 48 frames in that second. that's why you need to speed it up a bit more to match real time. So it's just about 200.2 percent to get 48 frames to play every second in a 23.98 fps project.
Must be because we didn't have the common core system when I was a kid in math. :)
