Ha! I can see that. :)
But, that's the beauty of customizability.
I'd switch the feature on, and you'd leave it off.

Anyone able to confirm that Premiere does this by default?

Now, if we can just convince them to return (and add to)
v4 interface customizations ;)

Feature Request:

As I sit here going through lots of interview footage and transcripts,
I thought it'd be great to be able to enable a setting that 
provided pitch correction during 2x playback, so subjects
wouldn't sound like Mickey Mouse.

I haven't spent a lot of time on Premiere at all, but I seem to
recall that it does this by default (??).

Rather than make it a default in MC, I'm huge proponent of allowing
the user to decide if they like/want something, when possible.
