There was a dub cable that we used from an early Beta deck to go into the dub input of a BVU-800. I think it was the exact same cable as the 3/4 to 3/4 dub cable. I think we had something like a BVW-10 or -15 feeding the dub input of the 3/4 deck and it worked. But getting back to the Color Direct vs color processing I seem to recall something about "Coherent Color" and perhaps "jitter burst sync" describing the subcarrier signal sent back to the deck from the TBC. I may have this terminology wrong but I know there was something going on in the special interconnect cable between the deck and the TBC. The cable looked a lot like the dub cable but I forget if it had a different number of pins or not.
