I don't know if it's related or not - but I saw that there is a new 'cache' setting available...
(this link should just jump to 2 min 52 seconds where it is described)
Maybe you can get that pointed somewhere other than your internal hard drive - or limit the MB amount.
(I have no hands on w/ 8.2 yet - so I'm just brainstorming your way - for all I know it's completely unrelated)
