No adobe subscription if not current and you can't use the software. At the end of support if you don't renew on a perpetual license it keeps working at that version. Big difference.
And if you choose to stick with V7 and close tge door on upgrades you already lose out on background render and 2K 4K support. Point releases are coming thick and fast and v7 will soon seem very limited.
