You may “Joke” that Avid dropped everything to work on AS-11 but as a UK Post house delivering to UK Broadcasters that was an immediate need and Avid did just that. Stepped upto the mark. Added AS-11 made changes is to it as the DPP spec evolved and have even fixed a few bugs that were discovered.
So one man’s lose is another man’s gain. So in my book Avid got it just right. We have a NLE that is successfully able to output AS-11 outputs to our Broadcast clients.
I agree that ScriptSync and Phrase find should have been developed (that said many many who use them find them brilliant) and the color corrector is a joke.
2K & 4K MC soon but no real finishing tools….
Let’s not forget the merge of MC & Symphony. Symphony option is now automatically included in the subscription version of MC so it’s now writing on the wall for Symphony to merge into MC.
