USB 2 to ethernet is limited to 100 Mb/s since USB2 is limited to 480 Mb/s.
USB 3 or TB to ethernet will do the full 1Gb. I have used both for ISIS with MBPs and iMacs. Works well.Dom Q. Silverio

Supplied with super new Retina MacBook Pro at work. Lovely and thin . . . and no Ethernet port. Just reporting that the Apple Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter reliably plays back a couple of streams of DNxHD120 from our ISIS 5000. I was originally given a cheap USB-Ethernet adapter which dropped frames. Hope someone finds this useful.
