Re: [Avid-L2] Hot Swapping UPS batteries?

Hi John,

I hot swap here without issue.
(I was intimidated too - but it makes sense - the batteries aren't doing much for you as long as the power is on :) )

The following is from the APC site.  If I'm reading this correctly the batteries are hot swappable.  I understand there will be no battery protection during the swap but we seem to have an extra battery tray that could be pre mounted with the replacement batteries so the swap would be relatively quick.  Am I just a crazy fool that wants to tight rope with not net?
From the UPS site:

Replacing the Battery
This battery pack has easy to replace hot-swappable batteries. Battery replacement is a safe procedure, isolated from electrical hazards. You may leave the UPS
and loads on for the following procedure. See your dealer or call the number in this manual for information on replacement battery kits.
Note: Please read the cautions in the
APC Safety Guide
. Save your data before beginning this procedure. Once the battery is disconnected, the loads
are not protected from power outages.
