For comparison, there is Steve Jobs who halted production on the first iPhone when he found it getting scratched in his pocket. Avid doesn't have a Steve Jobs or even anyone with his power. To be fair, Bendgate and the buggy ios8 rollout point to Apple not having that person anymore either.
