This isn't about evangelizing for your favorite NLE. Avid is still my favorite NLE to edit with, but it really isn't well positioned to be a "finishing" system for projects originated on other platforms, especially one as ummm...unique....as FCPX. There are no features Avid brings to the table for finishing that couldn't be achieved as well or better in the orignial NLE. Any time saving from Symphony relational Color Correction would likely be lost with all the tinkering necessary to get the project faithfully transferred. FCPX has decent secondary Color Correction, and if that doesn't suffice, it can interchange with Resolve. I haven't heard a response from the OP about what he hopes to gain by moving to Avid. There really aren't many scenarios I can think of where it makes any sense whatsoever. Unless you are absolutely forced to, it's total madness. If the only reason is playout hardware, then finish in FCPX and export a file for playout on the Avid System.

Seriously John, I am no more a fan boy for X as you are for MC. In this situation, it would be best just to stay in X where many of the finishing tools are better than MC (assuming no Symphony option). Simple fact, and a cleaner, less headaches workflow.
Of course this is just a humble opinion from one of the "little guys"!;-)
