I always try and free up a record point for an HD recording of a 16 or 25 way multiviewer output. Then there is no need for low res media.
Generally I'll group the lot, cut with the line cut, replacing junctions/sections that need work with multiviewer source and add edits to pick angles; then switch to the relevant camera.
Shuttling around searching for shots is way smoother with multiviewer as single source than a multicam grouping.
Trick is to have the truck feed the multiviewer with VTR/EVS/Cinedeck looped inputs - thus any ISO switching is reflected.
Multiviewer also good audio destination (for non video specific stems / Isos)
