I would be careful about QCing interlaced material on a progressive monitor.

Yeah, there are definitely a lot more options ion the $2k+ range, but I have interest in the sony because it is in the sub $1k range. I'm also now looking at the NEC and just putting a SDI to hdmi converter on it.
