It's funny, as I see the opposite. At my grad school, I see kids coming in knowing some PP and then dropping it for X. If Apple could let you open an X project in Motion, I think you would see even more. Also, when it comes to academia (trust me, I know this), change is to be largely feared. FCPX is way too different for most academics.For me, as a freelancer, I have to spend any money wisely, even down to $299. Again, a good move by Avid to regulate the revenue stream: pay up or else, in so many words. But for me, my region and my work, MC is dead in the water. I am keeping MC7 around for that "just in case" project, but there is no need to upgrade. The $299 would be far better used getting Resolve and Premiere tutorials.Just one opinion from "the little guys" point of view.regards - Scott
