Re: [Avid-L2] MC 8.1 vs. 7.0.4 Opinions

BCC6 was included with my V5 packages.  Not withV6 upgrades, or with V7 or V8.

BCC upgrade is $599.

I suspect that BCC6 will not work with MC7 on Mavericks.  I wonder if I should even try...

Wow I upgraded to BCC8 for 295 when they had the offer.  The regular upgrade is 599ish.  I never realized the initial pack was 2K.  Look in you old avid box sets and see if there is an older 32 bit version that came with them.  I would think that would at least qualify you for the upgrade vs. full price.  They are very nice folks to deal with and seem to be agreeably when it comes to things like this.  Heck at 2K you are getting into the sapphire zone.  I think Avid also has a production bundle option that is much less than 2K and includes BCC.  Given the history of BCC bundled with Avid it's kinda of a must as so many Avid editors are familiar with it.

Apparently BCC was included in some versions of MC, but I don't believe I have it here. Not sure I can justify $2,000 for a Pan and Zoom replacement and it does not seem to be available as a standalone.

Pan and Zoom is mostly doing the job. I do appreciate that it handles very high resolution images. I haven't hit a limit yet.
