Now the thing is, Im just transcoding and putting on a drive for an editor friend who is on vacation and comes back the next day. It will go to his Avid 7.0 system. But he does not have time to transcode as its such a quick turn. So basically Im giving the media to another Avid.
Not sure if that matters but throwing that info in.Lou

Depends on what they want to do in the edit and how they are finishing. At the very minimum, the lack of any LUT ability in 6.5 is going to add a layer of complexity to this (not an insurmountable problem, but people should be accustomed to the workflow).
It's just Pro Res QuickTime, so the standard QuickTime AMA plug will work.

I can't try as this is scheduled for next week. But if I can't do it with 6.5.4 they have to go elsewhere and they are on quick turnaround deadline so I don't want them to come in and have it not work.

Did you try it? No Frame Flex feature, to adjust framing, obviously, as that came in v7. As I stated earlier, when transcoded, the footage will still look strangely bland and washed out. It's normal.

Okay. Let me ask this. If they shoot in Pro Res 2K 444, can I at least transcode that to 1080 using Avid 6.5.4?
