I always make sure my still images are no more than 72dpi (without changing the dimensions, obviously), regardless of editing platform.
I'm not aware of any benefit of higher resolution when working with video - as far as I'm aware, it just eats memory and makes things take longer to render for no visual benefit. (Still images > 72dpi in FCP 7 is always a good way to invoke the beachball of death...)
