[Avid-L2] EXAMPLE: Why Interface Customization is important [1 Attachment]

The discussion (kvetching) about interface customizability
has been ongoing since the drastic changes circa version 5
(including a long thread in the Avid Community Forums).
What may seem to be inconsequential is, in fact, quite important
to editors who are using Media Composer for 10 hours a day (or more).

Since something regarding Interface settings just happened, I felt compelled to post,
because it is yet another example (of the many previously mentioned) where more interface control is needed:

I just helped an editor who wanted the following (which could not be achieved):
Dark interface (first "dark-click" to the left in the Interface settings),
but black text in the bin (i.e. not white), with a light bin bkgd --- and even changing the bin bkgd color to white
(really just a slightly lighter gray) with the option trick did not help.

To reiterate valuable customizations mentioned in past posts:
- Color of Project Window BKGD
- Color of Timeline Window BKGD
- Allow Filler to be colored
- Separate adjustments for the various highlight colors, e.g. Mark In/Out, Buttons (and button contents -- I used to make mine black for higher contrast/more pop), Segment selection, Clip/Seq. selection in bins, Track Selectors, etc., etc.
- Font size customizability everywhere (it's not just geezers like me; even my 23 year old students are always asking if it's possible). I end-up showing them how to use the Zoom-In with the scroll wheel (on a Mac).

Here are the color customizations that were available in
Media Composer version 10 (Meridian hardware, IIRC),
and even more great customizations were added in later releases:
