Re: [Avid-L2] video monitor

oops, I missed the 40-50" bit, scratch my previous reply...
50" Panasonic plasma should be your best bet. TH-50PF50U

You're best bet is probably a Dreamcolor LP2480zx.

Set the IOExpress HDMI output to pure p and color space to RGB so that you can unlock the color management in the monitor, then choose REC709 color space and you should be good to go.

cheers,

Wondering what folks like for a video monitor these days -- on the more inexpensive end.

Not looking for a colour-critical grading monitor, or anything close to it, just something decent in the 40 - 50" range.

Usually I work with 3 computer monitors, but we're set up with an AJA IO Express for this project, so a broadcast monitor makes sense.  The IO Express doesn't seem to do cross-conversions.  Our project format is 1080/23.98p -- anything to be careful about in terms of the monitor accepting the signal?

I remember some discussion of progressive vs psf, but that was awhile ago.  It looks to me like the AJA box can output either one -- does that sound right?

Thanks for any recommendations,
--Michael
