Couple of things. We've been deprecating older builds and versions more frequently in the past few years, we will continue to do that and move people to newer version sooner. With the new $299 plan, we're hoping more people get onto the newer versions faster.
Also, we have resources dedicated to only fixing bugs and improving older versions.

Understood. But, why not just work on the new versions? Unless you are like Apple and completely change the program, it should be assumed that everything in version 6, for example, will be in version 7 when it comes out, and development focuses on 7. Those who wish to stay at 6 may do so, but really can't expect Avid to be focusing on them. Especially in the new subscription era.
With CC, does Adobe patch past versions? Did they ever?
