If ScriptSync has not returnd come December, I can either pay Avid 299/license in the hope that it will some day return, or not pay the 299/license and essentially lose the right to ever upgrade them. The latter would be a serious incentive to look for alternative editing software.
As for there being more time for Avid and Nexidia to work out their deal, while I might agree from a personal and purely practical point of view, I very much disagree from a marketing point of view.
And it's not like nobody knew this was going to be an issue, the previous deal expired around NAB if I'm not mistaken.
