Here is what AJA support told me when I had a problem with MC 6.5.4 and a Kona 3 card (it now works with video but not embedded audio!). This is for Mac of course. YMMV:
I would recommend uninstalling both the Kona driver and AJA Open I/O plug-ins with the AJA uninstallers.
Then trash any com.aja.*.* preferences then reset the PRAM on the Mac and reinstall, as follows.
Run AJA uninstaller for the AJA Open I/O plugin, located in the AJA Avid Utilities folder under Applications folder.
Run AJA uninstaller for the Kona driver, located in the AJA utilities folder under Applications folder
Trash any com.aja.*.* preferences in the user /library/preferences folder
· Open Finder
· Hold down the <option> key.
· From the Finder Menu Bar click on G0
· Library will appear just as long as you hold the <option> key.
Reset the computer PRAM:
a) Turn off the computer.
b) Turn on the computer and immediately hold down: <option><command><P><R> keys.
c) Release after the third boot-up alert.
Install KONA 3 driver version 10.4.9
After restart install AJA Open I/O plug-in version 10.4.1
You can download driver and plug-in here in the software archive folder;
