What Bruno says is correct regarding the LP2480zx. The color management engine cannot handle YCbCr or interlaced input. When one of those signals is input the color management engine must be repurposed to either do colorspace conversion or deinterlacing.

Note that this is not the case with the new Z27x. It can accept either YCbCr or interlaced and fully color manage it. Unfortunately, though, we cannot accept the PsF output from the Nitris DX. Note that officially HDMI does not support PsF-structured signals.

In a nutshell, the Dreamcolor engine (which manages all the colourspace conversions) only works if you provide it with a RGB, true progressive signal (ie. 25p 30p etc) via its HDMI or Displayport connectors. Interlaced, Psf or YCrCb signals disable the engine and so the monitor displays the full gamut of the panel. You will need a converter box that can convert the output from the Nitris into an acceptable format for the Dreamcolor display. The AJA HDP2 is one that is commonly used for this application. Beware of converter boxes that claim to do the same thing (such as those offered by Blackmagic), as you must make sure that the converter will output progressive RGB even if the input is interlaced. Many boxes won't do this.

space on the monitor switches to "full" and all the other selections are
grayed out. The same thing happens in I connect the monitor via analog
component. Am I missing something obvious or is their no way to change
this monitor's color space setting when it is connected to a Nitris?
