I still get tearing on my Z400. 7.0.3. Unsupported gfx card though.

I think the screen tearing is a Media Composer thing rather than an OS thing. Only used Macs, however - anyone seeing good results on a PC?

If you end up getting a second monitor, you can change which monitor is assigned for fullscreen playback (Mostly useful when you have 3 monitors). Double click on settings > Full Screen Playback and the settings box will come up. Drag the box to whichever monitor you want as your fullscreen monitor and click on the "Select Monitor" button. Only thing I've run into is that 10.8 and 10.9 have problems with screen tearing under full screen playback.

Or you have a Full Screen Workspace (just like the old Toolsets - sort of). Windows menu. Avid's FSP does not look as good as in FCP7, for instance.

cmd+shift+F I think gets you full screen. Or ctrl+shift+F. One of those two, not infront of the mac right now.

Rookie questions, I know. I'll get up to speed on Media Composer soon though. :-) This is way different than FCP-X, I'll tell ya.
