I appreciate everyone advice. No I've been editing with Avid on and off for 10 years but more so with FCP these last 4 years. I never had formal Avid training though. I was interviewed by AFI last month for the editing discipline and the instructors advised that most incoming students take an Avid 101 course so I'd like to get certified. I didn't get accepted this year but putting my application in again for next year and would love to have that in my resume & application. The guy from Digital Arts Academy emailed me this schedule and rates so this is where I got the 2 day 101 classes from. Sorry the rate was incorrect though but still most courses are for 101 & 110 and are about 1900. Those are the ones off the Avid website. Anyway, I got a lot if info from everyone's post and can judge the best option for me from that info. Thanks a bunch guys!
